Rabbi Yaakov Lynn 

Dean and Director

Rabbi Lynn is the driving force behind Meorot, bringing his passion, enthusiasm and wisdom to the next generation of high-school graduates. Originally from New Jersey, Rabbi Lynn can relate to Meorot’s diverse student body and their parents with warmth and understanding. After graduating with honors from Binghamton University he worked as a journalist and then as a Hillel Director before making the move to Israel. He learned for 15 years in yeshivos including Darche Noam/Shapell’s, Midrash Shmuel and Yeshivas Mir, and received his Rabbinic Ordination from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg shlit”a.  Rabbi Lynn has taught for many years in yeshivos and seminaries in Jerusalem and is a sought-after speaker around the globe. He recently celebrated the birth of his sixth child with his wife Penina and travels daily to Meorot from their home in Beitar.

Mrs. Penina Lynn LCSW

Director of Students

A talented social worker, Mrs. Lynn has a keen insight into how to help individual students and create positive group dynamics. Originally from Columbia, Maryland, she has a BS in Sociology from Simmons University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland. As a previous behavioral specialist working in public schools, Penina is often consulted by institutions in Israel for advice on how to best help their students and runs workshops on goal setting and executive functioning. A busy mom of six, Penina also runs her own private practice alongside taking care of the students of Meorot and ensuring their wellbeing throughout the year.

Rabbi Menachem Nissel

Senior Educator

Rabbi Menachem Nissel has been a beloved teacher for over thirty years. A rebbe in Yeshivas Yishrei Lev and a Senior Educator to NCSY, he lectures internationally and continues to inspire thousands throughout the world. His ability to bring lofty concepts down to daily life make his classes tremendously popular with young adults. Rabbi Menachem Nissel is an accomplished author, with his book on woman and prayer, Rigshei Lev, being a must-have for every seminary student. He is also a contributing writer for Mishpacha magazine. He has an MBA from the London Business School.

Mrs. Esti Kimche

Senior Educator

Mrs. Kimche and her husband Rabbi Shmuel have been the address for Jewish teens for the past ten years. Originally from London, they taught in Hasmonean high-school, ran Ezra UK together and were popular speakers at the JLE. Now living in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Esti continues to bring her wisdom and warmth to our students at Meorot.

Mrs. Lauren Miller

Director of Communications

Mrs. Lauren Miller has been involved in the development of Jewish education for the past fifteen years. Originally from the UK, she was heavily involved in the Union of Jewish Students before discovering the magic of learning in Israel. After attaining her Master’s Teaching Degree and teaching in various Jewish schools in London, she married her husband Shimon and moved to Jerusalem eight years ago. An experienced copy writer and marketer, Lauren manages the promotion of Meorot and loves to give the Meorot girls the same enriching experience that she enjoyed as a student.

Rabbi Dov Lev

Teacher

Rabbi Dov Lev is a highly sought-after lecturer of Jewish Law, Jewish philosophy and the fundamentals of Jewish belief. For over a dozen years, he has served as an educator, counselor and researcher for Aish HaTorah as well as numerous women’s seminaries throughout Israel. He has semichah from Yeshivas Ner Yisroel and holds a Master’s Degree for the Johns’ Hopkins University School of Engineering. Rabbi Lev’s stimulating and highly-interactive classes encourage lively student participaion. He lives with his family in Ramat Beit Shemesh.

Dayan Shlomo Cohen

Teacher

Born and educated London England, Dayan Cohen is a Charted Accountant and an expert in business halacha. After studying in Yeshivat HaNegev and receiving semicha from HaRav Yitschak Kolitz and HaRav Benzion Klein he later qualified as a Dayan (Rabbinic Judge) from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. He is the author of the two-volume work ‘Pure Money’ (Targum Press) and currently serves as a dayan at the ‘Ahavat Shalom’ bet din for monetary issues in Jerusalem. He is also the Rosh Kollel of ‘Avne HaChosen’ where he trains furture dayanim and is the Rabbi of ‘Ahavat Yisrael’ synagogue in Har Shmuel. He teaches halacha and Jewish business ethics at Holon Institute of Technology, the Ashdod Instiute of Technology, Naaleh College, Neve Yerushalayim, Midreshet Tehilla and Meorot.

Rabbi Avraham Kilstein

Teacher

Rabbi Kilstein, hailing from Paramus, New Jersey, originally came on gap year program 18 years ago but then fell in love with the country… He studied in the famous mir yeshiva for ten years and received semicha from Rav Yaakov Hillel of the Ahavat Shalom yeshiva. He loves sharing his understandings about spirituality and chassidus, which he does in many forums. He lives in Nachlaot with his amazing wife Goldie and eight adorable kids, where students often join them for their large magical Shabbos meals.

Rabbi YY Wenglin

Teacher

Before moving to Israel, Rabbi “Y. Y.” Wenglin graduated with a BA cum laude in History and Literature from Harvard University and with a JD from the UCLA School of Law. After Law School, Rabbi Wenglin joined a Manhattan law firm as a corporate associate, working on mergers and acquisitions. He then decided to leave the corporate world and left for Aish HaTorah, where he learned for several years. After leading Yeshivas Lev Yisrael as it’s Executive Director, Rabbi Y.Y. turned his attention to teaching, becoming a popular lecturer throughout the world. He lives with his family in Ramat Beit Shemesh.

Mrs. Ayelet Elnecave

Teacher 

Mrs. Ayelet Elnecave received a BA in Jewish studies from Vanderbilt University in 2005. She then taught English as a second language in Mexico for three years before making Aliyah in 2010. She lives in Jerusalem with her husband and family and her online parsha class is one of the most popular on social media today.

Ms. Ayelet Gordon

Director of Informal and Creative Education

Ayelet Gordon grew up in Manchester, UK, and spent her gap year studying at Michlalah Yerushalayim. While studying Physical Therapy in college, her skills and passion for Jewish education and mentoring blossomed. She was trained and hired as a female educator by AISH Manchester and then eventually made her way back to Jerusalem, driven and determined to inspire, educate, and give to others.

Now in Israel, in addition to delivering public lectures and seminars Ayelet is a personal advisor to many students at several seminaries. In addition, she has initiated advanced learning programs for post-seminary girls both in the UK and in Israel.
