Rabbi Lynn is the driving force behind Meorot, bringing his passion, enthusiasm and wisdom to the next generation of high-school graduates. Originally from New Jersey, Rabbi Lynn maintains a close relationship with his non-religious family and can relate to Meorot’s diverse student body and their parents with warmth and understanding. After graduating with honors from Binghamton University he worked as a journalist and then as a Hillel Director before making the move to Israel. He learned for 15 years in yeshivos including Darche Noam/Shapell’s, Midrash Shmuel and Yeshivas Mir, and received his Rabbinic Ordination from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg shlit”a. Rabbi Lynn has taught for many years in yeshivos and seminaries in Jerusalem and is a sought-after speaker around the globe.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Rabbi Rubel has lived in Israel since 1987. A graduate of Yeshivas Chaim Berlin and New York University, he has a proven track record for managing various educational programs in Israel. A baal korei for many years, Rabbi Rubel enjoys running the netz minyan in Ramat Beit Shemesh, where he lives with his wife and family.

Mrs. Miriam Spitz, brings over 20 years of experience in the fields of Jewish education and outreach to Meorot, both in the classroom and in administrative positions. Mrs. Spitz is passionate about enabling our students to "own" their Judaism, by implementing programming and classes that teach Torah in a meaningful, inspiring and relevant manner, utilizing skill-building workshops, inspiring classes, and integrative hands-on learning experiences. Mrs. Spitz lives in Givat Ze'ev with her husband Rabbi Yehuda Spitz, Rosh Chabura of Ohr Lagolah, and their 6 children.

Mrs. Burton has been a professional in the world of donor relations and philanthropic advancement in the US and Israel for over 20 years. She is honored to work with the amazing staff and students at Meorot as she focuses her energy, creativity and vast experience in taking Meorot into its next chapter of growth and development. Mrs. Burton lives in Har Nof with her husband--therapist and author, Rabbi Tani Burton, and their 6 children. Mrs. Burton can be reached at heather@gomeorot.com.

Shana grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. After studying Optometry in South Africa, she came to Jerusalem where she has been living for the past 25 years. Shana has more than 20 years of experience working with students from all different backgrounds, guiding and supporting them through their journey in Israel and beyond. Shana has a deep understanding of what the students need and works toward creating a flourishing environment for students to grow in.

Sabrina grew up in Metuchen, NJ and studied journalism at Rutgers University. After college, she worked overnights on the CBS News morning show before spending time learning in Israel. She loves getting to know the Meorot students, having them over for schmoozes and meals, and spending the year watching them grow!

Friendly, approachable and super-efficient, Mrs. Ziskind keeps Meorot ticking over. With typical South-African charm and a cool head, she is often the first point of contact for our students. As a mother of five and wife of Rabbi Aryeh Leib Ziskind in Ohr Somaych, Mrs. Ziskind loves to have her house full of guests and looks forward to meeting you!

Melissa Markowitz

Over the years, Melissa has had the privilege of connecting to and creating meaningful, empowering and inspiring learning opportunities for hundreds of young women in different seminaries around Yerushalayim. She is a singer/songwriter and is often found playing relaxing, kumzitz style music for women and girls. She lives with her family in Yerushalayim.

Mrs Leetal Moallim grew up in LA, California and is currently a resident in Ramat Eshkol, Jerusalem. She and her husband are a part of the Jerusalem Kollel (Rav Berkowitz) where they gain knowledge, hashkafot, and practical applications of outreach. She is passionate about spreading Yidishkeit, and loves to be available for her students.

Rabbi Altman was born and raised in the NYC area. He attended University of Pennsylvania and then went to various Yeshivot and Kollelim in Eretz Yisrael, including Midrash Shmuel and Lakewood East. He now lives with his wife and children in Yerushalayim, and teaches in Meorot and a number of other yeshivot and seminaries.

Ms. Miriam Brodersen, originally from Portland, Oregon, made Aliyah with her family in 2002. She has a B.A in Business Administration from Ono Academic College (Israel) and a teaching certificate in Jewish studies from Beth Jacob Teachers Seminary (Jerusalem). In addition to being part of the faculty at Meorot, Miriam teaches at Shearim College of Jewish Studies for Women, Baer Miriam and Midreshet Tehillah.

AKA Rav Gav is the one of the most sought after lecturers in the jewish world today. He has an uncanny ability to deliver timeless Torah wisdom in a fashion which hits his audiences with wisdom and wit, giving over pearls of wisdom in a way that they are unaware that they are even learning! Originally from New York, Rav Gav now splits his time between learning, teaching, and his family. He is currently a senior lecturer at Aish HaTorah and lives in the holy city of Yerushalayim.

Mrs. Rivki (Cherrick) Gaynor

Rivki Gaynor is originally from Chicago and is the associate director of Camp Nageela Midwest and head of Camp Nageela Midwest Girls. Rivki lives with her husband, Rabbi John Gaynor (who teaches in Aish HaTorah) and their adorable son Chaim in French Hill, very close to Meorot. Rivki loves to be challenged intellectually by Meorot students and to learn and discover new ideas together.

Unchanged: Mrs. Gerzst grew up in Manchester, UK, and spent her gap year studying at Michlalah Yerushalayim. While studying Physical Therapy in college, her skills and passion for Jewish education and mentoring blossomed. Mrs. Gerzst worked at AISH Manchester and made her way back to Jerusalem, driven and determined to inspire, educate, and give to others. In addition to delivering public lectures and seminars she is a personal advisor to many students at several seminaries. Mrs. Gabi Horovitz

Mrs. Horovitz is a passionate teacher in an array of seminaries in Yerushaliym. Originally from Toronto, she began teaching in highschool’s there while running a girls-at-risk full time program. Currently she resides in our neighbourhood, Ramat Eshkol, where she enjoys truly getting to know her students in and out of the classroom setting. She has her Masters in Social Work and works in a specialized clinic that focuses on relational trauma.

Eli Horwitz

Eli Horowitz

Born and raised in London, England, Eli Horwitz first taught in Hasmonean High school before relocating to Eretz Yisroel upon her marriage. Her love of learning Torah and its practical implementation, is what drove her to refuse to leave the classroom albeit on the other side of the desk. She teaches in a variety of Seminaries on a range of topics that always fire up her passion and excitement for Judaism and uses her youthfulness to engage and connect with her students, learning as much from them as she hopes they do from her.

Mrs. Mindel Kassorla

Mrs. Mindel Kassorla

Mindel Kassorla, originally from Woodmere NY, has been working in seminaries in Eretz Yisrael for over a decade. She lectures on Jewish topics for women of all ages (from High School students to Senior Citizens) and is a popular columnist for Mishpacha Magazine. Mrs. Kassorla is also a talented graphic artist with her own business, as well as a Shadchan. In her class at Meorot seminary on Professional Devlopment, she gleans from her range of experience and teaches students how to harness their own strengths towards their future. Both Mrs. Kassorla and her husband, Rabbi Naftali Kassorla, share the privilege of teaching seminary women, as well as hosting them for Shabbos meals at their home in Jerusalem.

With his trade-mark sense of humor and extensive knowledge of Jewish thought, Rabbi Lerner is perfectly suited for teaching at Meorot. A former talmid of Yeshivahs Shapell’s/Darche Noam, Midrash Shmuel and the Mir, he received semicha from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg shlita. Rabbi Lerner continues to learn Torah, and devotes the rest of his time to education, outreach and his family.

Rabbi Yaakov Marcus was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He has been involved in Jewish education professionally for over 25 years. Between 1989 and 1995, he and his wife organized and ran an outreach shul in a secular Jewish suburb of Toronto. In 1995, he and his family moved to Eretz Yisroal where he became a member of the rabbinical faculty of the Neve Yerushalayim College for women in Har Nof. He is also a regular lecturer for the Midreshet Tehilla, Meorot and Chedvas Bais Yaakov Seminaries in Jerusalem. Additionally, he is a guest lecturer for the Meor college campus outreach program in the U.S. He and his family live in Telzstone.

Rabbi Salasnik joins us as a teacher of interpersonal relationships. Originally from London, Rabbi Salasnik was previously the Director of Shevet, the Orthodox education track on FZY/Young Judea Year Course, working with Jewish teenagers from a variety of backgrounds. As a specialist in Low Vision and Geriatric Optometry, Rabbi Salasnik flies back to the U.K. regularly, where he helps to rehabilitate people who are losing their sight as a result of severe eye disease.

Rabbi Gidon Schneider brings a broad range of perspectives and opinions to his shiurim, culled from his experiences in a variety of educational institutions. Born and raised in Toronto, Rabbi Schneider earned degrees in Criminology/History, a certificate in the Philosophy of Law and Social Thought and a professional certificate in Dispute Resolution. Rabbi Schneider learned for a number of years in the Mir before joining Yeshiva University’s Gruss Kollel from whom he received semicha, in addition to earning semicha from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. During this time he also received a Masters in Jewish Education through the Azrieli Graduate School and a certificate through the Puah Institute studying the interplay between Halacha and Fertility.

Tzvia is passionate about Jewish Education and loves sharing the beauty and relevance of Torah with her students. She has a Masters in Educational Psychology, and believes that building relationships with mentors and teachers is a vital part of one's growth. Tzvia has experience teaching in several seminaries and programs in Jerusalem as well as schools and educational institutions in London, UK. Tzvia enjoys building meaningful relationships with her students, and strives to truly believe in the greatness of each student and to help them to see that greatness in themselves too. She lives with her husband and children in Ramat Eshkol, right near Meorot.

Avi Steinherz

Avi Steinherz

Avi is a doctor of clinical social work, and a licensed CBT, Schema and advanced EMDR practitioner specializing in the treatment of trauma, addiction, and co-occurring mental health disorders. After earning degrees in pre-med and educational psychology, Avi went on to earn his Masters of Clinical Social Work from Long Island University Brooklyn and his Doctorate of Clinical Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Avi has over thirty years of experience in adolescent and adult education focusing on treating trauma and anxiety as well as self-esteem and stage of life struggles. Along with serving as in-field commander, Avi designed an educational syllabus and treatment protocols for the PsychoTrauma and Crisis Response Unit and trained EMS responders in countries throughout the world.

Before moving to Israel, Rabbi Wenglin graduated with a BA cum laude in History and Literature from Harvard University and with a JD from the UCLA School of Law. His ultra-high-energy delivery, deep familiarity with Western culture, creativity and self-effacing humor enable him to share and inspire with provocative, life-changing concepts in emunah, midot, and connecting to God. Rabbi Wenglin and his family live in Ramat Beit Shemesh.
