EXTRA CURRICULAR

Discover Yourself...at Meorot

TOURING

Tiyulim at Meorot are an integral part of the Seminary experience. Designed to be educational, fun, inspiring and challenging, we travel the “length and breadth” of the country and encounter the living history, natural beauty, and miraculous flourishing of Israel first hand. Our students go “off the beaten track” and get of an intimate look at the soul of the country, and grow in their knowledge, appreciation and connection to The Land of Israel.

Our awesome day trips include:

volunteering

Each week, we have an afternoon dedicated to chesed—showing kindness toward others through volunteering. Meorot students will either go together as a group to volunteer in a food pantry, soup kitchen,  senior residence and the like, or we will set you up with an individual opportunity to volunteer in a hospital or help a local family.

SHABBOS

Twice a month, Meorot alternates between having Shabbos on campus or travelling throughout Israel for an off-campus Shabbaton. If we’re on campus, Meorot staff and their families  join the students for meals, host onegs and run special programming. If it’s an off-campus Shabbaton, usually one staff member’s family will join, and the entire seminary will have the opportunity to visit different cities and sites throughout Israel. The Tzfat Shabbaton is a crowd favorite! On ‘off-Shabbosim,’ students will be able to visit family and friends in Israel or be set up with local families who are excited to host guests for Shabbos.
